Just discovered Swedish artist Camilla Engman today, through iGoogle's collection of "abstract" themes of all things. Engman paints, illustrates, and makes cool things out of paper. I actually wondered if she was Swedish when I first saw her Google theme, because it looks as though there are trolls among the trees. Then I learned that she grew up in a small Swedish town called Trollhättan! Her art captures something elusive about the Swedish landscape as well as the local folktales, making it all seem as familiar and at the same time alien as a dream.
