In the weirdest moment ever, the Nameless Monster takes Kate aside, Survivor-strategizing-style, and tells her that he did in fact have a mother once, and she was crazy. Kate's perpetually perplexed countenance was fitting for once, as she said, why are you telling me this? You're a Monster walking around in a Locke suit. He goes on to say that he has issues that he's still dealing with because of it. Kate's continual confusion finds a comfortable spot in this scene, and settles down for a long repose.
Earlier, when the Monster apologizes to Kate for Claire's crazy behavior, he says, "Did you ever have an enemy? Someone you just needed to hate?" It's fairly clear here that he's talking about himself in reference to his mild-mannered and late comrade-on-island Jacob. As he awkwardly talked to Kate about his past, I thought of how the Monster could probably never have gotten any help working through his issues from Jacob, and so has been stewing in his tropical island prison with only one irritating person to talk to. In a way that would probably make him infinitely more insane than Claire, who only had the Monster, the spectre of her dad, and a boar-headed "baby" for company for three years.

As someone who has never seen LOST, I actually really enjoy reading these. Makes me feel creepy inside!
Yay! It makes about as much sense as your average dream (though at times, less so), so I mostly write these to download all of the random stuff spinning around in my head afterwards. Otherwise I end up having dreams about it.
